We KNOW about Miniature Poodles . . . . have bred, judged at the highest levels around the world and exhibited them with huge success for over forty years. We LOVE the breed . . . . they live in the house, are part of the family and have character and personality. We live, breathe and sleep Poodles. We are one of the Top Breeders in the U.K. . . . . but we don’t keep large numbers, certainly no more than six and more usually only four or five. Our successes in the show ring are world famous, but our dogs are not just Prize Winners. Our breeding lines have been selected and tested for good health and excellent temperament over four decades. We were one of the first Poodle breeders in the U.K. to embrace the OptiGen DNA test. Since 2003 all breeding stock have been tested and we have been diligent in our use of the new technology to help eradicate this problem from our breeding line while keeping the essence and type of our line alive and successful. Puppies for show and companions sometimes available. Retired show/breeding dogs and bitches, usually around 3 years of age are occasionally available to loving, permanent and approved homes. Homes will be vetted. No one can make 100% guarantees about the future, but you can rest assured that we have done our utmost to ensure you will have many years of problem free, happy companionship. If things do go wrong we offer a lifetimes back-up, indeed we will always take any dog back in the event that you are ever unable to take care of the dog for whatever reason. Jackie has a lifetimes experience in the breed, has been the ‘Dog World’ Breed Columnist for many years and is Secretary of the Miniature Poodle Club, the only Club who deals solely with Miniature Poodles in the UK.. Looking Back Following a meteoric rise to fame Hannah (Sixth Sense) ended 2007 as ‘Dog World’ Joint Top Winning Bitch for the Breed with 5 CC’s, 2 BOB and 7 RCCs. She retired in May 2008 to produce Just The One and Trick or Treat in November.. These are my current youngstock doing well in 2010, both waiting on 1 CC apiece to attain their Championship titles. Becci (Revelation) quickly made her title early in 2008 and ended the year as Top Winning Bitch with 7 CC’s, 1 RCC and 1 BOB. She started 2009 with 4 further CC’s with Best of Breed at Crufts and Windsor and has now retired for maternal duties. (July 09) Despite this she was again Top Winning Bitch for 2009! Her puppies Superstition (by Trick or Treat) and Great Expectation are making their show debuts shortly, these will be her only progeny as she contracted pyometra and has had to be spayed - a huge disappointment to me but at least she is alive and happy, now settled in the loving home of longterm Michandy owners Steve and Anita who dote on her every move! At the close of 2009 Lottie (Just the One) was sitting on 1 CC and 4 RCC’s at just 18 months. At our first show in 2010 she has added another CC at Northumbria Poodle Club in February. Winning Limit classes she has been ‘so near’ to her qualifying CC but waits patiently for her turn. Trick or Treat has been a consistent class and BP winner as a Puppy and won his first Junior classes at Eastern Counties PC (Nov ‘09) and Northumbria (‘10) . He was also proud to represent the breed at this years PUP OF THE FINAL, where he was selected into the final 12. He has been UNBEATEN in his classes this year, including the Reserve CC at Crufts , Bath and Windsor. 3 x CC (with BOB at Leeds & Paignton) July 2010 at 20 months. Now a Champion and winner of his first Group at Paignton. Thanks to Bob Gregory the judge. Great Expectation, now in the capable hands of Liz Holmes-Leak has started her career in style, taking Best Puppy at both Kelso and Blackpool and winning the Pup of the Year Qualifier at Windsor, where she was also BPB. She has already won 2 Reserve CC’s in just 5 outings and topped it all with the BP, CC and BOB at Welsh KC at 11 months! Our Roll of Honour features all our Top Winners over the years . . . . These include 18 Champions - 130 CC’s won - Countless Stud Book & Junior Warrant Winners Overall Winners: Pup of the Year, Pet Plan Junior of the Year, Pedigree Champions Stakes , All Breed and Multi Breed Club Championship Show Group & Best in Shows + Jackie was ‘Junior Handler of the Year’ in 1971 - aged 13! Known as breeders of Black Miniatures, we recently bred our first Brown for many years - ‘Biarritz’ - who made her show debut early in 2008. Our last brown ‘Mahogany’ is behind the breed’s Bitch CC Record Holder Ch. Suraliam Putting On The Ritz. . Bea was the Top Winning Puppy for 2008 and started 2009 with the Reserve CC at Crufts. She has now been retired to the nursery. |
